Wine Myths
Is alcohol such as red wine really good for me?
Be careful of the marketing propaganda research studies you read about wine because they are trying to make you feel good about justifying consumption in order to purchase a product that has an incredibly high mark up. They are usually not telling the entire story. Research is done to boost sales, and the outcome of this research is already pre-determined before the study begins. No one goes into research blindly funding a couple extra million dollars with an open ended outcome being alright. For example…Wine helps with anti-aging and reduces strokes is one scientific study. Or the new study on resveritrol. Why not do a study about eating raw grapes off the vine for anti-aging, and reducing stroke studies vs drinking wine? Well the answer is easy…. there is no big money source, mark-up, or demand for eating raw grapes like there is in wine mark-up. What about hiking our tush out to the vineyard and eating grapes off the vine? Now that would still be romantic and relaxing. The vineyard owner would probably allow it if you paid them the same price as a bottle of wine. We will try to justify anything we can if we like eating or drinking it, and advertising a product only plays into the stern stance that it is ok in moderation. If you want to embalm yourself, and help out your local mortician, then create formaldehyde in your liver by drinking up!
From Aliveraw.com: “The wine industry, all at once says alcohol, which we know is deadly, no matter if it's in wine, or whisky, whatever the heck it's in, it is alcohol. It destroys cells. The fact of the matter is the astringent factor in grape seeds are different. The astringent factor cleans out the veins, and not the alcohol! Alcohol will pickle you. People do not seem to get alcohol is bad for you at any level. Listen to this, if you have a flaming alcoholic, what is destroyed in her body? The liver. So that means that if you only drink a little alcohol, it doesn't destroy a little bit of the liver? Think about this: You say you like wine. So you're going to want to buy the story that was sponsored by the alcohol industry. They always have these studies about every one or two years-normally six weeks before the holidays, because that's a good time for purchasing booze. So everyone’s preparing, but they don't want to feel guilty about drinking booze so the propaganda is spoken about at parties to make everyone feel better.
It's the beginning of November, and a study comes out from Denmark that says, "We have done a five-year research study that says: If you drink one scotch a day it's healthy for you; but if you drink two, it's deadly." And I said, "Did I really read that? I had to read it two or three times to say, "Are they really trying to give this con to the public here? And are they going to buy it?" Well, first they're going to buy it. People read the first part “If we drink wine it's good for you." A logical person would say, "Well, wait a minute. If two is going to kill me, how is one not going to half-kill me?" Do you follow that? That's what logic prevails. But people read, they cherry pick, as I say, they do what they want to do. And this is what we hear. Because they find a few phytochemicals in it perhaps it is good…? Well, I'm sure if I looked at heroin close enough; I'd find some phytochemicals in it. Is heroin ever going to be good for you? You know, you've got to look at this stuff, and look at what's really happening. We are about ready to absolutely destroy humanity, and we're still more interested in selling you something than we are in getting serious about survival.”

At every almost every family or friend gathering we offer alcohol. Every function you attend (Concerts, Opera, Sporting Events, Restaurants, etc) including some churches offer alcohol as part of the ritual. Even the bible tells us to drink it. It is truly an alcohol driven society. I have suffered through toxic society norms annoying me for most of my life thus far. Even most men who I have dated desire for me to drink to fit in with friends and societies patterns. They often would rather date a female who drinks, than respect the fact that I have chosen to not damage my body, skin, brain cells, athletic performance, or tank my immune system resulting in horrifying diseases such as cancer. We are a “live in the moment” society and many are not worried about consequences until we wind up in the hospital, and then find something else to blame the disease or complication on.
